T's wondeful luck with cars stikes yet again!

Last week, his van started making bad noises and he had to take it in to the mechanic. It needed the front right wheel and the axel fixed (whatever that means). He was worried that it might have been the transmission, which we just had replaced about 15 months ago. But no, it was the wheel. A mere $400 to fix. Got the van back, new wheel barings and axel.

Then, on Saturday, he called me from his afternoon gig and said the van was again making bad noises - worse this time, screaming like a siren, and he thought it was the brake on the side where they had just fixed the wheel, and he needed to bring it home and park it and use my car to go to his evening gig, which was out of town. No big deal, as I didn't really need my car, but I was afraid of letting him drive it due to his serious bad CAR-ma. Thankfully, my car didn't blow up while in his possession.

So yesterday he had the van towed to our mechanic again, and it turns out the second bad noise incident was, indeed, the transmisson. The 15 month old, and just off warrenty transmission, which needs to be replaced AGAIN. Somewhere around about $800 (because our darling mechanic, who loves us because we give him so much work, got us some kind of deal).

God damned vehicles. Life would be so much easier without them. And poor T, who is already shouldering the larger share of the financial burden, now that I am only semi-employed.
